The 33° edition of the Italian Trofeo Andrea Margutti Championship took place at the South Garda Karting Circuit in Lonato on 14th April. Full grid of 72 drivers in KZ2 any a big number of resounding names of kart champions promised a high level race and strong competition. The MS KART Racing Team started the very first race of this season with Jiri Safranek #130, Jakub Kadlcak #131 (both MS KART / TM Machac Motors) and Martin Konopka #114 (MS KART / TM Galiffa Kart) .
Jakub Kadlcak had his premiere race on the MS KART chassis and he did really well: althought he was not even lucky in the time practice (P13th in the group, P26 overall) he finished twice P8 and P14 in the heats which meant position 20 for the prefinal. Very changeable weather during Friday’s and Saturday’s heats went on even on Sunday: Jakub finished P14 on “slicks” in prefinal and on beautiful P13 in the wet final race with a fastest lap time as a bonus!
For Jirka Safranek this race meant fisrt of all a good opportunity to practice before the season starts, he did not qualify for the final. Even Martin Konopka did not qualify for the final despite really good pace, too bad his engine seized in the second chance heat.
Although our new MS KART RACING TEAM driver Kuba Kadlcak only did some practice days before leaving for Lonato, he got used to the MS chassis very quickly and he is really happy with his new equipment. Out chief mechanic Jirka Kahuda is also satisfied with him as a driver, he especially appreciates the excellent teamwork, his driving experience and his professional approach.
