P5 for Jakub Kadlčák at Margutti Trophy 2025

We started this year’s racing season with the 36th edition of Trofeo Andrea Margutti which took place on 20-23 March at the 1200m long South Garda Karting track in Lonato, Italy. The race, which is part of the FIA’s international calendar, was held this time in rather difficult conditions due to the light rain that properly tested all the drivers. The starting field, packed with karting champions of the KZ2 category, promised a traditionally high level of competition.

MS KART Racing Team started the first sharp race of the 2025 season with Jakub Kadlčák #142, Filip Vloch #141 and Lucie Zimmelová #143. All 3 drivers were on the entry list of KZ2 category with MS KART Blue Phoenix chassis and TM engines from Macháč Motors.

Jakub Kadlčák got up to speed very quickly in Italy, even though he had only 80 practice laps before the race after a long illness. His equipment both chassis and engine wise was well prepared and Kuba was fighting for every position. The time practice session went not optimal for him: 22nd place was a big challenge for the following heats. However, Kuba had good speed and made his way hard through the field. Unfortunately, he did not avoid a spoiler penalty in either heat. Results of P16, P9 and P11 from the heats and P19 in the prefinal meant an overall 19th position at the start for the final. But the final came out great: the mechanics managed to find the optimum kart setup and Kuba gradually worked his way up to 5th place on the slippery, drying track! It was a beautiful race and a great result for the whole team!

Filip Vloch improved a lot compared to last year’s Margutti and with P3 in the second chance heat he secured his place in the final. He started from P30 and managed to overtake to P20. But then due to a crash and turn he dropped back to P28. Filip showed a consistent performance and fighting spirit and gained a lot of new experience, which he will surely retrieve in the fight for points in the Czech Championship.

Lucie Zimmelová was the only girl in the KZ2 field of 51 drivers. Lucie is still getting familiar with KZ2 which she moved to at the end of last season. This race was her first big international experience. She had a tough start and was slowly getting used to the sharp pace and hard elbows of her rivals. However, in the last and the second chance heat, she was already showing progress and moving forward. The final P42 was a decent finish to the first race on Italian soil among experienced professionals.

Thanks to all the drivers and mechanics for their maximum commitment and to Macháč Motors for the preparation of the engines.

First practice days in Bruck

We used the first sunny spring weekend of 8th – 9th March for a joint training on the Speedworld track in Bruck, Austria, which was attended
