The Slovakiaring in Orechová Potôň hosted the opening round of the 2025 MP, MSR, and Rotax Max Challenge CZ & SK from April 4–6.
The weather was favorable, sunny and dry throughout the weekend. Only on Sunday did a strong icy wind force everyone to bundle up in winter jackets and beanies. For many drivers, it was the first real test of the 2025 season, and it quickly became clear who had put in the winter work. The MS KART racing team came out strong and claimed several valuable results right from the start.
In the BABY category, Samuel Novák was absolutely untouchable. Racing with the MS KART MINI Blue Kite chassis, he made his debut in the team colors and it couldn’t have gone any better. From the very first session, he made it clear he came for the win, and he delivered: victory in all three races and qualifying, each with a commanding lead. Such dominance in a debut race is truly special. Sam showed that the 2025 season will be all about the top spots for him…
In Rotax DD2, Tomáš Javůrek, starting with number 433, showed great consistency throughout the weekend and secured P3 overall. Especially in the third heat, his strong pace and experience really stood out.
The KZ2 Senior class was exceptionally competitive, and Jaroslav Capík made a stellar return to racing after a long break. He immediately found his top form, taking pole position in qualifying and dominating all three races with clean driving and excellent starts. A textbook comeback, Jarda took a commanding victory in the KZ2 Senior category.
His teammate Josef Barilla held his own in a large and competitive field. With consistent performances in all heats, he maintained a spot in the top 10 and ended the weekend with a strong P7 finish. Josef continues to prove that he can regularly bring home points and stay consistent, even in tough competition.
In the premier KZ2 class, rookie Tomáš Filipenský made a big impression. With a solid performance and assertive yet fair driving, he claimed P3 overall. The podium came as a pleasant surprise in his very first start with a KZ2 kart, congratulations, Tomáš!
Filip Vloch was among the fastest drivers on the track but unfortunately wasn’t able to convert his pace into a podium finish. A P3 in qualifying and P2 in the pre-final were promising, but a DNF followed by P3 in the finals meant a P4 overall in the MSR standings. Still, Filip clearly has the potential to fight regularly for podiums this season.
Lucie Zimmelová stood out with a fantastic lap in qualifying, where she took P1. However, the following races brought complications: after a strong P2 in the pre-final, two DNFs in the remaining heats pushed her down the order. Despite showing great pace, she had to settle for P7 in MSR overall. Still, Lucie ended the weekend with her head held high as the only female driver in a 17-pilot field, she certainly didn’t go unnoticed.
In the ROK Junior class, we welcomed David Rosypal to the team for his first appearance in MS KART colors. Despite struggling with multiple engine issues, David showed a strong start to the season. He fought hard in the heats and ultimately took P6 from Slovakia, a solid foundation to build on.
Huge thanks to all our drivers, mechanics, and partners for their amazing work and support! The 2025 season is just getting started, but it’s already clear we have a lot to look forward to.
Next up is the opening round of the Czech Kart Open, taking place April 11–13 in Vysoké Mýto.
