Czech Kart Open Round 2 in Cheb

The second round of Czech Kart Open, which took place at Kartarena in Cheb, most drivers of the MS KART Racing Team started in the KZ2 category.

The time practice did not turn out very well for  Jakub Talaš, the team´s No. 1 pilot: P6 meant starting from 3rd row in the following two final heats. Jakub coped well with this situation and moved forward during both race days. P5 and P3 in the first two heats ensured start position from row 2 in Superfinal. Kuba showed strong performance and he well deserved  the trophy for 3rd position.

Jirka Šafránek competed in the same category. He also did not have an optimal time practice and P14 moved him to the seventh startring row. Anyway, he pushed hard and went well in all three final races. Jirka scored points for P11, P11 and a nice P9 in Superfinal. Nice results which pleased not only his team mechanics but also his father Honza Šafránek, who started himself in KZ2 Gentleman category. Honza did very well: he finished fifth in the time practice and made two third places in final heats. P4 in Superfinal was really a good result.

In ROK GP Vašek Tomášek from the UBK team was not to be overlooked, setting the pace throughout Friday and Saturday. He won the qualification and the first race. In the second final, he led until the last round, then he got into collision which eliminated him from the race. The result was P6 on the start in the Superfinal. Vašek had a good start and he took the lead in the 3rd lap. However, until the end of the race he had to fight hard with other two top drivers. It was a tough but fair battle that thrilled all spectators. Finally Vašek passed the finish line as the winner! However, the joy and enthusiasm for a beautiful victory way breaked soon by a front spoiler penalty of 5 seconds which meant P8 in total.

Tomáš Filipenský raced in the same category and his great P2 in the qualification was followed by P3 in the first final. With technical problems he did P11 in 2nd heat. Replacing the engine with a spare one paid off in Superfinal and Tom was back in pace: he fought well in a strong field of seasoned drivers and made a very nice P3 and a well-deserved podium.

In Baby 60 Lukáš Konopka scored points for P6 and Filip Kovalík finished 4th overall in the ACR Cup in Mini 60.

Thanks to all drivers of MS KART Racing Team as well as to all the others who represent our brand. Big thanks to mechanics and parents for the great teamwork and the company Machač Motors for preparating the engines.
