The third round of the Moravian Cup, Slovak Championship and RMC CZ took place from June 20 to 22 at the Austrian Speedworld track in Bruck.
The scorching heat that prevailed throughout the weekend tested not only the drivers’ physical endurance but also the limits of the machinery. The asphalt radiated heat, and the track conditions kept changing throughout the day. Despite the challenging environment, our drivers delivered strong performances and didn’t give up in any of their races.
Filip Vloch confirmed his role as the favorite in the KZ2 class. After some setup issues on Friday, the team managed to find a competitive configuration, and Filip won every single heat. Even though he suffered a technical issue in the final race, he maintained the lead and deservedly took the overall victory.
Lucie Zimmelová made a significant leap forward, qualifying in fifth place. After a collision in the first heat set her back, she managed to regain several positions. The second heat showed further improvement, and in the third—despite a poor start from the second row—she fought her way back up again. Although she received bumper penalties in the second and third races that cost her a few seconds, she still secured an excellent third place. Even though the Bruck track isn’t her favorite, she thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.
Tomáš Filipenský also recalled a similarly demanding weekend. He struggled with engine problems, particularly at higher speeds, which affected his pace in all heats. His qualifying wasn’t ideal, but good starts and fighting spirit allowed him to move forward during the races. Despite technical difficulties, he finished the weekend with a respectable sixth place.
Josef Barilla qualified fifth in KZ2 Senior but was forced to retire from the first heat due to an incident and technical issues. In the next two heats, he finished ninth and eighth, earning him eighth place overall.
Even Erik Písačka, a former seasoned KZ class driver who is returning to the karting scene after many years, did not avoid a collision after the start of the opening heat, his kart was stuck in turn one. Erik didn’t finish the next 2 runs, bruised ribs taking their toll.
In the Rotax DD2 class the team was represented by Tomáš Javůrek, who qualified in second place. Although he had a strong engine, he struggled all weekend with the setup of the car, which could not be fine-tuned. He finished third in all three races, which meant a final third place. A solid performance overall, but Tomas leaves with the feeling that he will show more in the next race.
We thank all our drivers, mechanics, and partners for their efforts and teamwork during the hot weekend in Bruck. We’re bringing home not only good results but also valuable experience for the rest of the season.
The next round will be the Czech Championship in Písek, taking place from July 11 to 13, 2025.
We look forward to more racing action!
