A long way led to the 2nd round of Rotax Max Challenge Czech Republic, Slovak Championship and Moravian Cup. For many competitors it was the very first experience on the previously unknown Birizdo Kart circuit in Kecskemét, the 7th largest city in Hungary.
The whole weekend was accompanied by sunny and warm weather. Combined with setting up the karts for the new track, it was not an easy job for the mechanics and the drivers, but everyone made it in the end.
MS KART racing team was represented by 7 drivers, 3 of them achieved podium positions.
Rosalie Rabasova had constant results all weekend. In the Moravian Cup in the Rotax Micro category, she finished P5 in qualifying, P6 in the first race and P5 in the second and third race. She was unable to avoid several collisions which prevented her from achieving an even better result.
Filip Rabas faced a tough task in the busy Rotax Junior category. He finished in top ten in qualifying and in two heat in the Moravian Cup. He had a cillision in the 3rd heat and he dropped to the back of the field.
Tomáš Filipenský, as the only competitor in the ROK category, treated the race on Hungarian soil more as a training session and tried to improve both his times and kart setup during the weekend. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to finish the 3rd race due to an engine failure.
In KZ2 Filip Vloch had an interesting weekend. He had to fight hard for every inch of the track with two experienced domectic drivers who had the local track in their little fingers. But Filip did not give up, benefited from excellent starts and finally finished P2. With this result he moved from P4 to P1 in the overall MSR standings, 36 points ahead of the second driver.
It was definitely an interesting weekend that brought many positives, but also many challenges to improve.
Thanks to all the drivers and mechanics for their cooperation.
