The second race of the Slovakian Championship and Rotax Max Challenge CZ and SK took place at Slovakiaring on July 2-4th.
In the KZ2 and KZ2 Veteran class our MS KART team was represented by three drivers. Jakub Talaš, who did partecipated in the qualification on Saturday, started the 1st Sunday race from behind. Due to an incident in heat 1 he did not finish the race, but the remaining two final heat were already fully under his control and he crossed the finish line twice as the winner. Jakub funished 2nd overall. Jiří Šafránek, also in KZ2, showed a great pace when he set the fastest time in qualification. On Sunday, Jirka started from pole position in the first heat and finished in a great second place. His speed in the second heat was excellent again when and he finished on P2. However, a mistake and misunderstanding with a fifth spare tyre meant disqualification and so Jirka had to start from behind in heat 3 and finisehd on P7. His father Jan Šafránek started in the KZ2 Veteran category, finishing third in his group in heat 1. Bad luck came after a mass collision at the start of the 2nd heat, which was caused by a failed start procedure. The happier drivers avoided the collision, unfortunately Jan was one of the others. As it turned out a moment later after the repeated second start, the fast replaced track rod was not the only damage on his kart: the hard impact caused damage of the tubing and his kart was no longer in shape. Nevertheless, Jan tried to drive as best he could and finished third overall.
Vilem Hene drove very well in DD2 Masters and achieved excellent results: P3, P3 and P2 in the heats. Other drivers of this category were Kamil Kubera and Lukas Devera (both from team JM KART, who finished 2nd and 4th overall. A nice surprise was the great performance of Nikolas Szabo in DD2, who set the fifth time in qualification and the results of P3, P3 and a beautiful victory in heat 3, when he managed to overtake bothe Bezel brothers, showed that he has a great form. Congratulations!
Tomas Filipensky in ROK class was in good condition all weekend. After Saturday’s time practice which he won Tomas did not loose speed in Sunday’s races and finished P1, P1, P2 and got the victory in his category.
In the ROTAX MAX Junior class we cheered for Tomas Javurek, who set P11 in Saturday’s time practice. On Sunday, the first race was followed by a big improvement in heat 1 when he finished P4. The following two heats menats P13 and P7 for Tom. Tomas Brancik drove in the same category finishing in P7 in race 1 and P4 and P5 and heat 2 and 3.
Filip Kovalik finished P10 in MINI 60 and Filip Rabas won a nice 2nd place in ROTAX MICRO MAX. Superb performance with the MS chassis was demonstrated by Krystof Kyllar (team JM KART) who showed a great pace in Micro Max. Krystof finished P4 overall. Lukas Konopka defended our colors in MINI 60 and he really succeeded in the race weekend: in the final evaluation he took a nice 3rd place. Jakub Kubera from JM KART finished P8 in Rotax MINI.
