P1 for Lucas Ellingham in Senior X30 at Whilton Mill. On a highly competitive grid, Lucas had excellent heats to put himself on pole position and win the final leading every lap!
“1st race meeting of 2022 went well. I started with a beautiful JDR liveried MS Kart with the new 2022 bodywork, then it was time to try the new tyres that have been selected for the class. I had 3 test sessions to dial into them and after session 1 I knew I liked them and session 2 set times quicker than the lap record, session 3 we had a chain snap, which, on the bright side, was good as it could have gone in a race,” says Lucas.
“In the heats I’d be starting P22, P6 & P22, so not the best but ended up with H1: P22 > P3, H2: P6 > Win & fastest lap, H3: P22 > P10 & fastest lap. This put me on Pole for the final which I won leading every lap. Still got a lot to learn about the tyres but a great start to ‘22 which I couldn’t have done without the support from Jack Dex, MS Kart, Ssport Engines, Arc AV, Raptor Racewear and Stu Stretton Media,” said Lucas contentedly.
