Lee Harpham and his team had a fantastic weekend at Donington Park for the Motorsport UK British Superkart Grand Prix on 25-26th September.
Lee was the quickest in free practice. In qualifying he had a blow out on the rear tyre 4 laps in ending up in the gravel and so he qualified 4th.
First race went well getting into the lead and at the flag was 8.8 seconds clear. Race 2 was hard but Lee ended up finishing 2nd which gave him pole for the GP race. The GP race was epic with some close racing between Lee and Liam Morley changing places every lap. Was some awesome racing giving each other room but then the red flag came out. Now it was going to be a 4 minute sprint. „Liam took the lead on the second lap after I made a mistake and I knew I had to just try and do whatever I could so the last two hairpins was the only chance! I Had a mega run out of the Melbourne loop and my only chance was the last hairpin so I had to send it and it paid off!“ desribed Lee hapilly the last seconds before the checkered flag.
Massive thanks to Dave Harvey and Harvey Motorsport for the great reliable MS KART -Harvey VM package. All the development has finally paid off. Thanks to Rod Harpham for all the hard graft over the weekend and Paul Wheatley NGK Spark plugs for the support. Also thanks for the support behind the scenes Emm Cooper, Olivia and mum.
