Max Karhan on podium in Wackersdorf!

After the previous race in Vysoke Myto and two days of testing Max Karhan and his team arrived at Pro Kart Raceland in Wackersdorf for the last round of the Czech Kart Open on Thursday morning.

The free practice sessions on Thursday and Friday were important to set up the equipment for wet track, as the previous testing was on dry.  It looked like it was going to rain all weekend. Max did very well compared to the competition, the water was good for him and he set the fastest times. The team was in a good mood, with only the eyes of the mechanics and drivers constantly on the sky. This time everyone wished it would rain, as it doesn’t happen that often…

The last free practice on Saturday was unfortunately the last one on wet track. And suddenly everything turned around. The timekeeper showed that dry conditions are not Max’s strong point at the moment, and in the timed practice he set the 11th fastest time, 0.76 seconds behind the first driver.

The mood in the team was not so good anymore, but we know Max and his starts… He started excellently in the first final and got to P5. After some great battles, he finished seventh.

Sunday morning warm up was followed by rain and Max’s pace was great again. He started the second final heat from P11, as always he did a great job and after a nice fight he finished the race P9.

“Even miracles happen,” commented Mrs. Šimáková (head of MS Kart) the race result after Max crossed the finish line P3 in superfinal. Max finished with good luck in third place overall after starting from P9.

It was a beautiful end of the 2022 season in the Czech Championship. Finishing P3 and P5 overall was a great reward for the whole team. And it should be noted that it was Max´s first race season in OK Junior…

Thanks to our mechanics and partners for their excellent work and support!
