After previous DKM, WSK and MCR races, where the priority was to finish the race in the top ten, because we are running a new category this year, we finally succeeded! We were at the top of the starting field at the Steel Ring in Trinec. It definitely helped us and it was obvious that we tested this circuit before the race and we did a lot of laps, both on dry and wet track. It was nice to watch the beautiful battles from the first practice sessions and you could see that Max was really enjoying it!
We came to Třinec to win and it looked very promising in free practice sessions. Max was P5 and the mood in the depot was positive. Sometimes it rained, but otherwise the weather was warm and sunny and the atmosphere between the drivers was friendly… that is until qualifying came, because the camaraderie stays in the depot 🙂
It was clear from the official practice sessions that there would be a battle for the top positions and that Max was a force to be reckoned with here. The proof was very fast lap times compared to the other competitors. Communication with the mechanic about the setup went like clockwork. Everything worked according to plan and expectations!
In the end, the race ended in third place due to a collision between two riders that slowed Max down and then he had to catch up and fight until the last laps.
We are very happy for the third place, but we will win at the next race in Vysoke Mýto! And we are already focusing on the next DKM race where we will gain more valuable experience.
