MP & MSR Slovakiaring: one podium at the season start

MS KART Racing Team has finished the opening race weekend of the Slovak Championship and Moravian Cup series. Some of the drivers had already been practicing at Slovakiaring a week before the race, yet during the race they faced many unexpected situations and, as usual in karting, they did not avoid numerous collisions and complications.

We can proudly say that a number of our drivers showed good pace on the track, with Filip Vloch even winning the qualification and Jakub Kopecký managing to catch up and overtake his rivals in the second and third race. But let’s start with the Young 50 category, where we were represented by the new and youngest member of the team, Anna Radvanová. In the first race of her career, she showed improvement throughout the weekend. Speed on the track will come in time, the main thing now was that she was excited about racing.

Jakub Kopecký was magic in the Rotax Mini category. After failing to finish the first race, he presented himself in a good light, successfully attacking the drivers in front of him from the rear positions. P5 in the second and third race was a nice confirmation of his performance.

We also had a representative in the Rotax Micro category. Rosalie Rabasova was not afraid to overtake and managed to move forward in slow steps during the races, resulting in P6 overall.

The most unlucky was Filip Rabas, who was involved in two collisions in the first races in the Rotax Junior category, which he had no chance to avoid. However, his performance was good and it was clear that the move from Mini to Junior class had done him good.

However, his performance was good and it was clear that the move from Mini to Junior class was good for him. He has a competitive spirit and at Slovakiaring he took P13 overall.

His teammate and category rival Matyáš Kučera suffered similar complications. Unlike Filip, however, Maty was able to finish the second race despite the collision, finishing P18 overall.

Two of the team drivers were followed throughout the weekend in the Rotax DD2 category. Tomáš Javůrek completed his first race of the season after a rather long illness and achieved P3 overall. He put in a respectable performance, but physically he was not fully fit yet, which affected his fight for a better position. Lucie Zimmel struggled with the track which did not suit her much and optimal chassis setup. Eventuelly she finishing behind Tomas in P4.

An unusually large number of drivers fought at the Slovak Championship in the ROK category, where our colours were defended by Tomáš Filipenský. Tom benefited from a successful qualification in a strong competition, kept his position in the races and finished the weekend as P6 in the standings.

The last participant of our team was Filip Vloch, competitor of the royal category KZ2. He was undoubtedly the fastest racer of the whole weekend, who was twice first at the finish line in the final runs. Unfortunately, he committed the same mistake 3 times, namely an early start. The penalties cost him dearly, and in the end he finished P4 overall.

Thanks to all team members for their cooperation, drivers for their performance and mechanics for a job well done. We look forward to seeing you on April 19-21 at the 1st Czech Championship race in Vysoké Mýto.
