Lucas Ellingham returned to Whilton Mill Kart club where last year he won the X30 Junior Championship, this year he drives in the X30 Senior Championship. From pole position in Heat 1, he pulled away on each lap and finished with a three-second plus gap. His grid position in Heat 2 was P18 and his pace took him through the pack to finish at P5. A great Heat 3 saw him go from P32 in the grid of 34 drivers to cross the line in P6. His heat results gave him pole position for the final and again he drew away from the start but was caught just a few laps from the finishing line to gain a second-place podium. A tremendous result for his first race, as a senior at Whilton Mill.
Also well done to Max Fallon who finished P8 in Honda Cadet
Well done to all our Juniors who performed well today. Jude finished the day on a high with P2 and fastest lap. Sam was P5. Just in front of Luke in P6. Leo had an off but recovered to P13 and Jake P15. Archie had a tough day with a crash and a puncture so ended in P30.
Also our Mini drivers performed well today. Cian looked good for a top 5 but an incident dropped him down to P9. Morgan was really strong today and ended up P10. Oliver ran most of the day in the top 10 but a few mistakes meant he ended up P13. Charlie was P15. Ben P20 and Josh P22.
We also had a few in Rotax this weekend. At teeside Gracie Mitchell won the junior final on her MS Kart powered by Time Racing Engines. Bella would of given her a race if it wasn’t for her incident at turn 1. She was also really fast and put it on pole in Timed Qual. At Whilton George Barker was out in Minimax. He showed good form for his first race and improved all weekend. Also a mention to Lizzie Mentier who won Minimax at Teeside on her MS Kart.
Thanks MS Kart, Jade Engines and Spike Sport Engines.
Well done Jack Dex and all JDR drivers!
