Four of our MS KART Racing Team drivers have had their first sharp race of the 2024 season in the heavily contested Trofeo Andrea Margutti on the hot Italian track of Lonato.
“This race has proved to be a good season opener for us in previous years. It’s a great test of the new equipment and also of the riders’ winter preparation. The chassis worked great and now it’s up to us to capitalize on the experience gained,” said Jiri Kahuda, the team’s boss, as he assessed the weekend.
Hopes for good results were spoiled especially by the qualifying. They played a crucial role in a race with a very strong start list. Our pilots Jakub Kadlčák, David Gorčica, Filip Vloch and Jonáš Hubáček were unable to make the most of the qualifying positions that would have kept them in the fight for a good position.
“Although the qualifying was not successful, we consider the subsequent times of the drivers in the qualifying runs as a success. Jakub Kadlčák was just 0.3 seconds behind the fastest, which is a big positive for this weekend,” continued Jiří Kahuda.
David Gorčica recorded his debut in the KZ2 category and held his promise in the races where all our drivers were accompanied by collisions and penalties for dropped bumpers.
“This was the first race of the year, which was preceded by 4 days of training together with other team members. We went to Italy with the aim of getting a good start before the upcoming races in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Considering the amount of experience gained, I consider this weekend a good start to this season,” concluded Jiří Kahuda.
