Czech Kart Open Round 3

From 25 to 27 June MS KART Racing Team went to the 3rd round of Czech Kart Open at Kartodrom in Vysoke Myto. The team had the strongest representation in KZ2 and KZ2 Gentleman categories. Team´s number one Jakub Talas set second time in time practice on Saturday and secured a great starting position in the following two heats.

In the first and second final Jakub showed solid performance and finished P3 and P2 in a busy field. He started second in the Superfinal and drove tight behind the leading rider for everal laps. He showed a great speed and managed to take the lead. However, his opponent returned the maneuver shortly afterwards, and they both showed a tight and clean battle for the leading position. Jakub kept a superb pace all the race and after waving the checkered flag he finished in a beautiful second place. This confirmed his excellent form that accompanied him throughout the race weekend. Another driver in this category was Jiri Safarnek. Jirka took 15th position in Saturday’s time practice and P14 and P17 in the final heats in a busy field. In the Superfinal, the performance of his go-kart was unfortunately affected by the very poor condition of the tires which lead to P21 at the end. Jirka has great potential and a huge effort to move forward, which will certainly be reflected in other races. His father Jan Safranek started in the KZ2 Gentleman class. He set a nice 5th time in Saturday’s qualification. Although Jan was very troubled by the starts this time, he did very well in the races: he managed P5 in the first and P4 in the second final heats. In the Superfinal Jan finished fifth overall, very good result.

Vaclav Tomasek from team UBK team managed to master the Saturday’s qualification in ROK GP. In the first final race on Saturday afternoon Vaclav did not have the best speed and passed the finish line on P4. On Sunday, however, he was in shape again: he won the 2nd final heat as well as the Superfinal with a huge lead in a start-finish style. An other driver of the same class was Tomas Filipensky. Tom did not have a lucky race start this time and was disqualified from time practice due to less weight. In both finals races he had to start from behind but fought and moved forward. In the first final race he finished P14 and P10 in the second final. In Superfinal Tom had a great pace and finished on beautiful 6th place overall.

In BABY 60 Lukas Konopka scored points for P7 and Greta Polmova achieved the same place in ACR Cup.

Congratulations to David Novy from CK Motorsport team who got a nice trophy for the second place in the MINI 60 Cup category. Lukas Tomasek started in the same class and finished fourth. This time Filip Kovalik had bad luck in the Superfinal and had to retire the heat due to an engine failure.

Miroslav Svec had his premiere in the youngest SCHOOL 50 category with a completely new MS KART BABY chassis. He fought and set really fast times and although his engine suffered numerous technical problems the little racer did not let himself be discouraged and he crossed the finish line in a nice 8th position in Superfinal.

Thanks to all drivers who represent our brand, they showed great performances. Many thanks to all the mechanics for perfect preparation of the vehicles and to the parents for good teamwork. Many thanks to Machac Motors for the engines and Ondra Beneda for great photos.
