4. race Czech Kart Open – Wackersdorf

The Prokart Raceland track in Wackersdorf, Germany, is one of our less popular tracks and once again troubled the majority of our drivers and mechanics. The starting field of Czech and Slovak drivers this time was expanded by a large number of domestic German pilots, who made it difficult for us to fight for the podium. The sun was beating down all weekend and the races were held on dry tyres.

Our youngest racers Johanka Sovičková and Anička Radvanová were again gaining experience in the Youth 50 category. Johanka had her second race and there was a big improvement since her debut in Písek!

A very good and consistent performance was shown by Jonáš Hubáček in MINI 60. Seventh place in qualifying was not exactly as desired, but in every race including the superfinal Jonáš managed to fight at the front and took 3 x 4th place.

In the ROK category, a pair of juniors, Marek Ambrož and Matyáš Kučera, tried to advance to the superfinal in a strong field of 42 drivers. Marek didn’t make it to the top 36, but next time he is determined to show that he has what it takes. Maty made it to the superfinals and finished on the podium in 2nd place! In the senior ROK GP category, Tomáše Filipenský was unlucky to qualify 14th for the superfinal, but after a collision on the last lap and a subsequent penalty, he finished 31st.

In OK Senior, Tadeáš Radvan showed that he is one of the fastest drivers in the field. He was in the lead in terms of time, but failed to qualify well. He started from the back positions and ended up 7th in the superfinal.

Josef Barilla in KZ2 Gentleman category showed some nice fights and finished the weekend on P11.

The riders fighting in KZ2 had a very difficult race this time. Filip Vloch got a DQ in qualifying, which made it difficult for him to move forward. After a collision, he had to end the superfinal early and finished 24th. Lucie Zimmelova swapped her Rotax DD2 for a 6Q and had her first ever KZ2 race! The weekend in the strong competition was an extraordinary experience for her, she learned fast and improved with every run on the track. Her joy was momentarily spoiled by a DQ for being underweight at the end, but otherwise she enjoyed her KZ2 ride to the max and is looking forward to the next race. David Gorčica and Jakub Kadlčák struggled throughout the weekend with optimal chassis setup and driving style. Unfortunately, David was unable to break into the top half of the field, finishing 21st in the superfinal. Kuba failed to qualify well, 10th place made all of his race runs significantly more difficult. However, thanks to great starts, tough battles and strong nerves he finished the superfinal in a nice 4th place.

Thanks to all drivers, mechanics and Macháč Motors for professional cooperation. We look forward to seeing you at the 5th Czech Kart Open at the end of August at Steel Ring!
