The Steelring race track in Třinec hosted another round of the Czech Championship. Warm sunny weather, hot asphalt and strong competition are the typical features of the fifth and penultimate race of this year’s CKO season.
Our youngest girl driver Johanka Sovičková continues to gain valuable experience among her peers in the Školní 50 category. Johanka shows improvement with each race, which is a great step forward!
In MINI 60 Jonáš Hubáček struggled with the kart’s setup at the beginning but eventually everything was fine-tuned which reflected in his results during qualifying (P4) and heats (P4, P5). Unfortunately, an incident in the superfinal prevented Jonáš from fighting for a podium finish, he ended up P10.
Matyáš Kučera described this weekend as very successful in Rok Junior. He consistently maintained positions around P2 and P3, finishing in P3. Matyáš, who is now battling for second place in the championship, leaves Třinec with important points and looks forward to shining at the next race in Slovakiaring.
Tomáš Filipenský had a promising start on Friday, but Saturday’s technical issues prevented him from finishing any practice sessions, leading to a poor qualifying position. In the race, he tried to minimize his points loss and finished P10 in the superfinal.
Josef Barilla faced strong competition in KZ2 Gentleman. In the first race, a multi-driver collision occurred in the opening lap, and unfortunately, Josef was involved. However, he was determined to push forward in the following races and finished in 9th place overall.
Tadeáš Radvan began to show his better form this weekend. In the OK category, he qualified in third place and confirmed this result in the first race. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side afterward; in the second race, he received a penalty for a dropped bumper, and in the super final, he spun out, leading to a DNF.
Filip Vloch and Jakub Kadlčák represented our team in KZ2. Filip evaluates this race weekend that the speed was good, but had some bad luck and and the subsequent nervousness also affected the course of the race. He finished P9 and is aiming for better positions in the next race. Jakub showed a really good speed in free practice but P5 in quilifying was not satisfying, he knew he had the potential to move further up. In each subsequent race, he gained positions, finishing on the podium in the super final, but a penalty pushed him back to P6.
