The famous “Green Hell” of Písek once again lived up to its reputation. The third round of the Czech Kart Open, held on 19–21 June, challenged everyone involved under extremely demanding conditions. Throughout the weekend, scorching temperatures tested not only the drivers but also the mechanics and the entire paddock crew. The final twist came during the KZ2 Super Final, when a violent thunderstorm swept across the circuit, forcing race officials to shorten the race due to heavy rain. MS KART Racing Team competed in three categories and returned home with two podium finishes and valuable championship points.
In the Baby 60 category, Samuel Novák delivered another flawless performance. He dominated qualifying, won both heats and claimed victory in the Super Final, leaving Písek with the maximum possible points. Throughout the weekend he remained unbeaten, once again confirming his outstanding form this season.
Lubomír Jáchym continued to make steady progress over the course of the weekend. His best result came with third place in Heat 2 before finishing sixth in the Super Final, confirming that his performance is moving in the right direction.
In KZ2 Gentleman, our drivers were once again fighting at the front. Erik Písačka continued his excellent form by qualifying second, finishing second and fourth in the heats, and securing another second-place finish in the Super Final. Josef Barilla improved session by session, moving from sixth in qualifying to fifth and third in the heats before narrowly missing the podium with fourth place in the Super Final.
As always, the strongest competition was found in KZ2, where close battles continued throughout the weekend. The standout performer for MS KART Racing Team was Jakub Kadlčák. Although his primary role this season is coaching the team rather than racing, he proved in Písek that he has lost none of his speed. He was among the fastest drivers on track all weekend long. After qualifying fourth and finishing third in the opening heat, technical issues prevented him from even starting Heat 2. Forced to begin the rain-affected Super Final from the back of the grid, he fought his way through to an impressive sixth-place finish.
Matyáš Kučera showed excellent pace throughout the weekend. Starting from 15th on the grid after qualifying, he repeatedly worked his way forward through the field. Unfortunately, his progress was twice hampered by front fairing penalties. Nevertheless, he demonstrated his speed once again and finished eighth in the Super Final.
Lukáš Babáček also displayed strong pace throughout the weekend. After qualifying eighth, he finished fourteenth in the opening heat before technical problems forced him to retire from Heat 2. He eventually crossed the line in sixteenth place in the Super Final.
Lukáš Lehnert improved steadily throughout the weekend after qualifying twenty-seventh. He climbed to eighteenth place in both heats before the thunderstorm-shortened Super Final unfortunately ended in retirement for him.
Lucie Zimmelová did not experience one of her strongest race weekends. The demanding conditions and extreme heat also affected her performance. Nevertheless, she qualified thirteenth and concluded the weekend with seventeenth place overall.
The weekend in Písek brought MS KART Racing Team not only two podium finishes but also valuable championship points across all categories. The pace shown by the team throughout the event provides strong encouragement ahead of the remaining rounds of the season.
Our sincere thanks go to all our drivers, mechanics, partners and families for their dedication and support. We would also like to thank Macháč Motors for the excellent preparation of our engines throughout the race weekend.
