The third round of the Czech Kart Open 2025 championship was hosted by Fun Arena Cheb from June 6th to 8th. The track welcomed drivers with unpredictable weather, which played a key role throughout the weekend. Rainy conditions and frequent changes in track grip reshuffled the field and tested both team strategy and driver skills at the limit of traction.
In the Baby 60 category, Johana Sovičková placed 11th in qualifying. She delivered a solid performance in the first race, finishing 6th, followed by 8th place in the second heat, and a 7th place finish in Sunday’s super final.
Lukáš Babáček competed in the ROK GP class. After a strong qualifying session that saw him post the seventh-fastest time, he finished 5th in the first race and 10th in the second. In the super final, he was unlucky; dropping from a promising third place down to 12th. The team opted for a bolder strategy during the weekend, which ultimately didn’t pay off in the final stages. Nevertheless, Lukáš showed great fighting spirit and strength in challenging conditions.
In ROK GP Junior, David Rosypal had a successful weekend, bringing home a victory from Cheb. He handled qualifying perfectly, securing second place, and with consistent performances in both heats (P2, P2), he set himself up in an excellent position. In the super final, he dominated and rightfully claimed first place.
In the KZ2 category, the fastest class, Jakub Kadlčák continued his strong form. After placing fourth in qualifying, he won the first race and finished second in the second. In the super final, he had to settle for fifth place after a tough battle. Even so, he remains one of the key contenders at the front of the championship standings.
Filip Vloch had to battle not only his rivals but also technical setup issues in Cheb. After qualifying 13th, he had to retire from the first race and finished 16th in the second. In the super final, he significantly improved and crossed the line in 11th place. Despite an overall difficult weekend, he left a good impression thanks to his determination.
Tomáš Filipenský showed significant progress and scored his first points in the Czech Kart Open 2025 in the rainy conditions. Starting 17th in qualifying, he recovered from an early collision in the first race to finish in an excellent 10th place—his best result so far. The second race brought a 15th place finish, and he ended up 12th in the super final. It was a tough weekend, but it provided valuable experience and a step forward in performance.
In KZ2 Gentleman, Jaroslav Capík continued his consistent form, qualifying sixth and finishing fourth and first in the two heats. In the super final, he ended up fifth. Once again, he proved to be one of the fastest drivers in his category.
Josef Barilla started the races from seventh place and delivered a solid performance in the first heat, finishing seventh. The second race ended prematurely, and he secured ninth place in the super final.
We thank all the drivers, teams, mechanics, and partners for their efforts during the third round of the CKO. We’re leaving Cheb not only with valuable results but also with a wealth of experience to carry into the next rounds.
The next stop will be the combined event of the Moravian Cup and Slovak Championship ROTAX MAX CHALLENGE CZ/SK, taking place in Speedworld Bruck from June 20th to 22nd, 2025. We look forward to more racing action!
